How to choose the right service
You do not need to diagnose the vehicle before you book. If you know that you need routine servicing, brake work, air-conditioning attention or a pre-MOT check, choose that service directly. If the issue is electrical or unclear, choose vehicle electrical diagnostics and describe the symptoms in the message field. The workshop can then decide whether the concern belongs to a more specific category such as battery and charging, wiring, parking sensors, lighting or body electronics.
For faults that come and go, record as much context as you can. Whether the vehicle is hot or cold, how long it has been standing, whether the weather is wet, which warning messages appear and whether the symptom changes after restarting can all be useful. If a previous repair or battery replacement happened shortly before the issue began, mention it. That information does not replace testing, but it helps avoid starting from zero.
Electrical and electronic diagnostics
Modern vehicles use many control modules and communication networks. The engine, gearbox, body systems, battery management, lighting, parking assistance, climate control and convenience functions may exchange information continuously. Because of that integration, one supply or network problem can create several warnings. Our electrical service pages are written to encourage evidence-based diagnosis: check the symptom, assess supply integrity, read relevant fault information, test circuits or functions where appropriate and compare the results before recommending a component.
Our electrical services cover general vehicle diagnostics, wiring faults, batteries and battery coding, starter and alternator concerns, fuse boxes, lighting, central locking and windows, immobiliser/key work, parking sensors, ECU coding, EV/hybrid diagnostics and accessory installations. Some functions depend heavily on the specific vehicle, so the booking form requests exact make, model and registration details. For deeper programming or security work, the VIN and information about previous repairs can also be useful before we confirm the scope.
Servicing, brakes and air conditioning
Routine care is a different kind of work but just as important. Full car servicing helps owners stay on top of maintenance items and can provide a useful baseline where history is incomplete. Brake service is condition-led and safety critical: unusual noises, warning messages, vibration or reduced performance should be investigated rather than ignored. Air-conditioning service addresses cooling performance and can help distinguish a routine service need from a leak, electrical fault or component problem.
The correct cost depends on the vehicle, parts, service scope and any diagnostic time required. Rather than applying one generic figure to every car, we ask for the vehicle and job details so the workshop can review what is actually needed. That makes it easier to distinguish a routine maintenance request from fault-finding that may need staged testing before a repair price can be confirmed.
Pre-MOT is preparation, not the official test
A pre-MOT check can identify obvious issues with items such as lights, tyres, visibility and other roadworthiness-related areas before you present the car for its statutory MOT. However, it is not the MOT itself and does not create a pass certificate. The actual MOT must be carried out by an authorised testing station under the official rules. The service page makes this distinction clear to avoid misleading customers or search engines.
An MOT also has a different purpose from routine servicing. A car can pass its MOT and still be due for oil, filters, fluids or other maintenance, while a well-serviced car can still fail an MOT if a testable roadworthiness item does not meet the standard on the day. Booking the right service therefore depends on what you want to achieve.
Book by service or describe the symptom
If you know the job you need, select the matching service and send the vehicle details through the online booking form. If the cause is unclear, choose Vehicle Electrical Diagnostics or describe the symptom in the message field. Useful information includes the exact warning message, whether the fault is constant or intermittent, what happened immediately before it started and whether another garage has already replaced parts or carried out tests.
The booking form also allows an optional issue image, which can be useful for a dashboard warning or a visible vehicle concern. After the request is accepted you receive a booking reference. The workshop can then review the information, confirm practical availability and contact you if the job needs clarification before the appointment.

Use the detailed pages below the main navigation to learn about each service. If you are still unsure, book “Vehicle Electrical Diagnostics” for an electrical complaint or describe the job in the message field. Providing a useful symptom description is usually more valuable than selecting a category with perfect wording.
